The Beams Chair won the 2017 German National Excellent Product Design Award and the European Product Design Award. Its design concept stems from a simple question: traditional solid wood chairs are often thick and hefty -- is it possible to create a more lightweight design without sacrificing strength and comfort?

Ingeniously applying the structural characteristics of H-shaped steel to the solid wood carpentry process, the Beams Chair was born. The chair weighs 4 kg, nearly halving the weight of an average solid wood chair. The structural design of the chair body reflects the beauty of woodworking craftsmanship, while the extended length, width, and large curvature of the chair back offers increased comfort. Other extended series from the brand include products such as dining tables, side tables and low tables.
